Cabo San Lucas’ Pacific-side beaches are offering good surf-fishing action for small roosterfish, needlefish and some sierra, according to Arturo Chacón, relaying reports from the guides at his company, Tag Cabo Sportfishing. Separately, Daliken’s October 18, 2026 report describes active tuna fishing off San José del Cabo.

Cabo San Lucas: surf fishing with Tag Cabo Sportfishing

In his October 18 update to Cabo Sportfishing Magazine, Chacón said his surf-fishing guides were reporting good action for small roosterfish, needlefish and some sierra on the Pacific side of Cabo. These are company-supplied guide observations, not an independently verified survey of every beach.

The specific outing dates, individual beaches and fishing methods were not supplied. October 18 is the date the update was provided, not a confirmed date for every catch. Conditions and catches can differ between outings.

San José del Cabo: tuna remains the focus

In its report dated October 18, 2026, Daliken Sportfishing, operating from Puerto Los Cabos, describes tuna activity at Iman, Gordo Banks and San Luis Bank. The operator reports sardines being used for smaller tuna and small skipjack for larger fish.

Daliken also reports plentiful skipjack, with sailfish and cubera snapper around. Dorado and marlin fishing were slower, and the operator says it has no recent wahoo catch to report. These observations apply to Daliken’s stated reporting period and fishing area; they do not establish that a species is absent elsewhere.

Earlier San José context: October 11

Gordo Banks Pangas’ report dated October 11, 2026 described tuna fishing at Vinorama and more variable tuna action at the Inner and Outer Gordo, along with bottom fishing at Iman. This is earlier background, not a new October 18 observation.
