Rate of surface temperature change per 10 km, computed from actual MUR grid values (0.05° sampling) in a 1° box around the sample point (Pacific, southwest of Cabo San Lucas). Stronger gradients mark boundaries between water masses; they are not evidence of fish.

Historical seasonal patterns from cited sources, reviewed by our editors. This is not a report of current catches; see dated reports below for verified recent fishing.
The Cabo San Lucas calendar is awaiting editorial review. No unreviewed seasonal ratings are shown.
Editor-approved observations from captains and named sources, shown with their report date. Older entries are historical, not today’s conditions.
No approved Cabo San Lucas observations yet.
Compare the Pacific-facing waters west of Cabo with the offshore waters to the east. A satellite surface analysis describes the water, not the day’s catches or safe passage.
MUR combines multiple satellite and in-situ inputs into a gridded surface analysis. The newest seven days may be revised. Point readings show estimated analysis uncertainty when NOAA provides it; they are not onboard thermometer measurements.

No. This is the latest available daily JPL MUR analysis distributed by NOAA CoastWatch. Its analysis timestamp appears beside the map and each point reading. It is not a real-time sensor feed, weather forecast or fishing prediction.
Changes in surface temperature can help describe boundaries between water masses. They do not prove bait or fish are present. The SST color field is shown here; a separate quantified gradient layer is not yet available.
Not by itself. Striped marlin can be encountered year-round around Cabo. Bait, water structure, fishing effort and recent verified reports matter; a peak season is not an exclusive season.
Not in this initial release. Those layers need separately verified sources, timestamps and licensing. Regional species calendars need evidence and editorial review. No modeled conditions, seasonal averages or invented values have been used as substitutes.
